McKinzie, who signed in December to play baseball for the University of Central Arkansas, will play his last high school event at 5 p.m. today in Baum Stadium at the Arkansas High School Coaches Association All-Star baseball game.

"Without Ethan, especially during his junior year, we would have been a mediocre team," Gravette baseball coach Vernon Scott said. "He always gave us a chance because he could shut anyone down. There's no doubt he's the best I've ever coached."

Scott also said McKinzie, who's expected to be a pitcher for UCA, can throw in the upper 80s with total control, locating any pitch wherever he wants.
