Full Grown Bear,
Again, I apologize for offending you. I will be at several games this spring (planning a road trip to Reno) and would enjoy buying you a soda water and watching the game with you and hearing your thoughts about the players. Please come up and introduce yourself at a game if you recognize me from the following description. Most games I will be wearing a UCA visor and Oakley glasses. I will be sitting with what some folks think is an attractive 40 something blonde that is my wife. I would appreciate you saying hello as I want to meet as many Bear fans as I can. Actually, that offer applies to any of you that are regular posters in the baseball forum (treyuca, joshuca, etc...). I would be glad to buy you a soft drink and talk some baseball if that will help get more fans to the ballpark.

Hopefully, one of these days I live close enough to Conway to take you up on your offer.
You planning on making the trip to Memphis in May?

joshuca,
I wish I could, but weekday games are tough for me to make. It is too hard for me to get out of the plant in time to make it to the ballpark. You will have to attend as the UCA cheering section. Hopefully the team will be about 30-19 when they visit Memphis.

I believe that today is the first official day of practice - correct? With this weather, I doubt that there will be too much outdoor activity this weekend. Only 21 days until opening day!

That just means more time to throw and hit marshmallows with broom sticks indoors.

We always used whiffle golf balls in my day, never thought about marshmallows.

By the way, where can you find UCA baseball history on here, I had a guy that worked with me in AAU one summer that was supposed to be one of the best hitters UCA ever had?

Did you know that Wes Gardner and Glenn Abbott are the only UCA players to ever got to the "show" according to the baseball almanac?

The best place to find baseball history is the media guide.
Here's the link to last year's.

See page 54.
