I seriously think the Bears are ALOT better than 9th/10th place!
How many teams make it to the SLC Tournament?

Since joining the league the Bears finished 10th, 9th and 9th overall. 8 teams make the tournament.

There's nothing to suggest in the preseason that they should finish higher. Only 3 starters return on offense. Most of the pitchers are back, but they were 7th in the league in ERA.

I have to agree with Josh. I think we are better than what many people believe. They picked us just outside of the tournament. If they win a couple more conference series than last year, they will be in the tournament.

I agree with BearsFan52 - slide in under the radar to start the season. The truth is that the difference between 5th place and 9th place will likely be less than 5 or 6 wins - or one extra win every other series. If the pitching shows up in the spring the way I saw it in the fall and if the ballclub will make the routine plays, the team should finish at least .500 and that will get them in the conference tournament. Baseball always comes back to pitching and defense - don't try to win games...avoid losing them.

Aren't we eligible for postseason play this year in baseball? Wasn't this the men's team sport that was fast tracked?

A not very in-depth preview at all, esp. of UCA, but it is a preview...
