After letting one get away yesterday, we avoided the sweep today with a 10-8 win.
Good win against a very good team, but we were so close to winning the series.

the 8-6 win Sunday was big for a number of different reasons. One, after losing the way we did on Saturday afternoon, it was nice of us to rebound, especially after falling behind 2-0 after 2 innings yesterday. Two, we kept from being swept for the 2nd time in the first 3 weeks of SLC play. Three, they needed to get some positive results in the form of a W on the back end of an 8 game road trip that had started out so well. We dug ourselves a little bit of a hole with the sweep from SFA opening week, but the last 2 weekends on the road we went 3-3, so that isnt too bad in retrospect. And by the standings, we have already played 2 of the best 3 teams in the league during the early going, with the Bears going on the road to Texas St. in 2 weeks.

Southeastern La...... 7 2 0 .778
Texas State............ 7 2 0 .778
Stephen F. Austin.... 6 2 0 .750
Sam Houston State.. 6 3 0 .667
UT Arlington............ 5 4 0 .556
McNeese State......... 5 4 0 .556
Northwestern State.. 4 4 0 .500
Nicholls State............4 5 0 .444
A&M-Corpus Christi...3 6 0 .333
Central Arkansas.......3 6 0 .333
Lamar......................2 7 0 .222
UTSA...................... 1 8 0 .111

I hope we have a good crowds the next week and half for the next 4 games that are at home, these guys were ready to get off the road for more than a week!

We've played the 86th toughest schedule to date as well.
stAte has played 128th toughest schedule to date, Ualr's is rated 199, Uapb's is 272 among the other in-state schools not in the SEC.

The SLC is 11th in the nation in RPI as a whole, according to WarrenNolan.com
