Thanks for passing that along.
Check out the numbers so far. Pretty outstanding. Tough luck loss with zero unearned runs. He hasn't thrown many innings yet, but wow.

Code:
Player       W    L    ERA    G    GS    CG    SHO    SV    IP    H    R    ER    HR    BB    SO    AVG
Kordsmeier, J    1    1    0.00    3    1    0    0    0    9.00    4    2    0    0    10    2    .129

And he has given up 10 BBs plus 4 hits = 14 base runners...and no ERs...that has to have some luck or very good defense behind him. Still a ) ERA after 9 innings pitched is pretty good.

I somehow didn't notice the 10 walks.
That does diminish the rest of the numbers a bit.

Six of his BB's came in his first outing. Recall that Kords didn't throw much in the second half of the year and was likely a bit rusty. Has been pretty good since. Fuller has been playing CF of late for the Tomcats.

I know its just American legion ball, but Clint Green has been playing AL ball in LR as well. And LHP Tyler Harding is pitching somewhere in Hawaii if I'm not mistaken.

I believe Dustin Ward is also out of state pitching some where, but I can not remember where right now.

The JC player signed for 2011 is Bryan Wilson from WSC North champions Oxnard, CA JC. Oxnard JC is the school that got the California/U of A connection going with players such as Mark Berry, Howard Hilton, Tim Seward in the early 80's.
Wilson is a R/R 3b/P who was the WSC North Player of the Year, All-State and All-American. Slick fielder, good pop and sinker slider type who was followed by quite a few Pac-10, WCC and Big West schools. Coach Clark signed him.

One of the assistants, Coach Goodwin, was in California for four or five days this year pounding the pavement and making connections with many of the major HS and JC programs. The groundwork was being put in place and I'm sure that the next coach will benefit from the exposure.

Roberts and Marietta both had solid summers for the WV Miners. The team was eliminated in the 1st round of the play-offs, but both of the guys got good AB's and hit about .260 after very slow starts.
