Michael Wild (6-8) goes 6.1 innings in relief of Chase Hitchingson. Wild scattered 6 hits and tallied 3 KOs in shutting out the BearKats.

Thanks to BF101 for the updates throughout the weekend.
Sam is clearly not a good team either based on Ws and Ls. But I don't think any of us expected to go down there and sweep even a team that had lost 8 in a row.

This weekend's (reminder that it's Thursday - Saturday) competition could allow for us to finish the season one spot out of the tournament if I did my math right. Granted, that's still a couple games back at best.

That's the best I've seen the guys play in a long long time. They were extremely loose out there on the field AND in the dugout, and just playing the game. We played well, pitched it well, hit it well, and fielded well too! We only gave up 10 runs total, 9 were earned, the 1st one against Bobby was not earned on the only error of the weekend. Bobby Pritchett has been a great asset to this program for 4 years now on the mound, glad to see him get a much deserved win in Game 1 Saturday. Wild pitched pretty much light's out on Sunday, and Dustin Ward was about as good as I've ever seen him, but I did miss his ORU start from earlier this year. Granted that was not the same Sam Houston St. program that entered this season winners the last 3 SLC Tournaments, but the fact is they did enter play this weekend with a chance to head to postseason play again with plenty on the line for themselves, and we flat out whipped them from start to finish on their home field no if's, and's, or but's about it. This was a great weekend to be a Bear fan and to be in Huntsville, now here's hoping they can finish this season and the seniors final week on a high note!
