I didn't notice a field tarp at the game last weekend. Does the new infield turf not require a tarp b/c it drains so well?

Only tarps are for the pitcher's mound, and maybe the 2 bullpens best I can tell...

Also, note that Saturday's game has already been pushed back to 4 pm, so it gives everyone an opportunity to go watch the Sugar Bears at the Farris Center at 2, and then head over to Bear Stadium at 4 pm...

So game time's this weekend are Friday at 3, Saturday at 4, and Sunday at 1. No radio again this weekend, but it's coming soon!...

Bear Chat with Michael Pair
By Lee Hogan - February 23rd, 2011

This story has been read 9 times.

Senior catcher Michael Pair is one of the offensive weapons the UCA baseball team has coming back this season. Last year, Pair had a .304 batting average and led the team in RBI with 42. Pair also recorded a slugging percentage of .485 while hitting five home runs on the year.

This year, Pair is poised to be a key contributor both at the plate and behind the plate at catcher. Pair’s .992 fielding percentage last year was good enough for fifth on the team while seeing time as catcher, left field, and right field.

Before coming to UCA, Pair attended McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas for two years. Over his three years in college, Pair has a combined .318 batting average proving to be consistent at the plate.

Pair, originally from Dallas, Texas, attended Trinity Christian Academy High School in Addison, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, and is a broadcast journalism major at UCA...

Looks like The Echo is going to cover the heck out of baseball this year, that's a good thing!

BF101, Pair was fantastic this past series stopping the ball from getting away. Well, except that last game when it ran up him and popped the UMP in the face. (Not funny I know, but it made something to talk about. )
