UCA vs. Texas State

after a 13-2, 7 inning mercy rule win over UAPB at home Tuesday night, the Bears (14-16, 4-8 9th in the SLC) welcome the top team in the league, Texas State (19-9, 10-2 1st SLC), to Bear Stadium this weekend. Game times will be at 6 tonight, 4 tomorrow, and 1 on Sunday, with a 20 minute pregames on The Bear 91.3 and UCAsports.com as always.

Carson Smith, the reigning SLC Pitcher and Newcomer of the Year, and 2-time SLC Pitcher of the Week, will get a start vs. the Bears, I'm assuming tonight. Texas State also has the leading HR and RBI hitter in the league as well, Casey Kalenkosky who has 10 HR and 37 RBI's.

The Bears dropped the first game 3-8 yesterday, but came out and won today's game 6-5 in 11. Go Bears!

Always great to win a series, especially over the league leader and Texas State. Congrts to Bears!!

Let's go sweep Nichlols next week.

The crowds on Saturday and Sunday were great. There was definitely an atmosphere that we could all get used to out there if they stay in it like they were.

BTW, the Bears have played the top 4 teams in the SLC now and have series wins over #1 and #3 right now. Now, they still have a 6-9 SLC record right now, BUT, the guys are only 2 games out of 5th place, and 3 out of 3rd place after this weekend, with the top 8 qualifying for the SLC Tournament in San Marcos.
