Game 1

UCA 8-17-2
NSU 6-13-1

Bears leave 14 on base but still start the weekend off with a win coming from down 6-5 after 4 innings.

Ethan Harris goes 4-6 with 3 runs and a RBI.....Jonathan Davis goes 3-4 and Zack Dickson gets 3 hits as Houston and Noble each added 2 hits.

Ryan Angus who gets the win went 5 giving up 6 runs and 10 hits while Evan Cox finished off in superb relief giving up 3 hits with 6 KOs and no BBs.

Bears move to 17-17 on the year and 7-9 in SLC play. Nicholls fall to 16-18 and 6-10.

Coming into the weekend both Bears and Colonels were tied for 9th a game back of McNeese and TAMCC. Since TAMCC lost today to SFA by 14-2, they drop into a tie for 9th with UCA.

Needless to day this weekend is very important for Bears post-season chances. A sweep would do wonders. We close out SLC play with teams who come into this weekend with a combined 34-41 conference record:

UTA 8-7
TAMCC 7-8
NWS 3-12
Sam 8-7
UTSA 8-7

This weekend's game may just tighten the logjam (today's scores in parens):

UCA (6-9) at NSU (6-9)...say UCA moves to 8-10;NSU to 7-10 (UCA 8-6)
SFA (11-4) at TAMCC (7-8)....say TAMCC drops to 8-10; SFA to 13-5 (SFA 14-2)
Lamar (9-6) at Sam (8-7)....say Sam drops to 9-9; Lamar to 11-7 (SHS 9-4)
NWS (3-12) at UTSA (8-7)...say UTSA moves to 11-7 (UTSA 6-2)
SELA (9-6) at TSU (11-4).....say SELA drops to 10-8; TSU to 13-5 (SELA 8-5)
MSU (8-7) at UTA (8-7)....say MSU moves to 10-8; UTA drops to 9-9 (UTA 8-3)

Game 3

Bears lose 11-8 in a heartbreaker giving up 4 in 8th.....Bears drop to 8-10/18-18...next up is UALR Tuesday in LR and then UAPB on Wed in PB....then the weekend series at home vs UTA...
