Dustin Ward is this week's SLC pitcher of the week. He is definitely deserving of the recognition after his incredible performance on Saturday. Also, Ethan Harris recieved an honorable mention for SLC hitter of the week. Congratulations to both Dustin and Ethan!

Dustin Ward received Southland pitcher of the week for his work against Sam Houston last Friday. Also, Jonathan Houston received an honorable mention for his performance this past week. Congratulations to both of them, and good luck to all the Bears this weekend at UTSA.

So when does the SLC recognize players for not only being good, but doing those little things that give their team the win? I watched Johnathan Davis steal bases and without that the single by his teammate would have just moved him to second..but instead he scored. He has not only done that this past weekend, but on other occasions that I've personally witnessed. Not forgetting the dude can rock the sphere, those invaluable small things he does should be recognized..somehow. I haven't looked at his stats, but EVERYTIME I have seen him play, it's a breath of fresh air to see the fear in the opposing pitcher's eyes.

Are these not based on nominations from AD Offices?
