UCA was no hit by SAU today. The SAU starter had a perfect game through 7 innings.

SAU 1
UCA 0

Yes not a very good for the UCA hitters today. They were basically handcuffed from the word go! But once again the starting pitching held it's ground all day...Between Barnett, Jackson, and Whittaker they had 10 stikes out through 6 winnings

Maybe I'm the UCA version of Rick Schaeffer, but a 1-0 loss also has a lot of positives with it usually. If you can hold a team to one run, especially in college baseball, you are within one good swing of tying/winning the game. And out pitching staff apparently did a pretty good job as well.

Kinda like when a basketball team shoots poorly from the field - sometimes it's not terrible offense, but great defense (ie not terrible hitting, but great pitching).

I'm not saying it was a bad game...I mean if you like a good ole fashion pitchers dual then this was a freakin awesome game! I mean heck as I said the starting 3 pitchers pitched lights out... It's just that we need to learn how to hit better off of a left handed pitcher. If I recall the same thing happened when Panhandle came to town they pitched a lefty and he did the same to us but we came out with the win. But yes a lot of positives did come out of the game but the overall goal in a ballgame is to get the win and we did not.

I will say one thing though we did show some improvement compared to the way we played these guys last year!
