The Bears had a workout at UFCU Disch-Falk Field today. Tomorrow night at 6 pm the Bears take on college baseball's winningest D1 program and coach in the history of the game, the Texas Longhorns. Airtime on The Bear 91.3 and on UCAsports.com will begin at 5:40 pm from here in Austin.

I know we've played big schools before, even this year in Mizzou and Ole Miss. We've even beaten Ole Miss and Wichita State once apiece on the road in the past when both were ranked in the Top 10. That said, this is a program that is head and shoulders above them from the total number of wins, to the 6 national titles, tradition, you name it. This ought to be a fun night in a great big-time college baseball atmosphere!

First ever meeting in any sport between the Bears and Longhorns

This will also be the the 6th member of the Big 12 the Bears have faced since the move up:

Oklahoma 0-1 (two previous games in 1947 however)
Oklahoma State 0-1 (again two previous meetings in 1947, too)

Bears drop game 4-2......good effort....

An error led to their second run (at least according to the pbp).
A two-out triple led to them taking the lead in the 7th.
And we had two runners on in the 9th that could have tied it. The Texas pitcher then struck out our two best hitters back-to-back to end it.
