Great job by the Bears on the road.....Bulldogs are 31-21 overall and 18-7 non-conference....MSU won 1 of 3 from uaf and 2 of 3 from Ole Miss....

Bears split with Mizzou, dropped two close games at Ole Miss and beats MSU....2-4 vs "SEC".....

The postgame interview from their coach...he basically said the only reason
we won was because his guys were not mentally ready to play and our guys
treated the game like the world series. Excuse me if I am wrong...but I thought
you were supposed to play every game as if it were your last. Maybe he has
a bunch of turds in the punch bowl. Good win for the BEARS no matter how
you slice it.

And we did it without J.D. =D> That's an accomplishment because he brings so much to the plate and the bases.

I thought it was a pretty BUSH league statement too. Especially coming from a coach who isn't too far removed from the Southland.

I read an article from one of the local Mississippi papers that said "Mississippi State struggled to generate runs against less-than-stellar pitching". Made me grin a little. They don't realize that's like chanting "overrated" when you are beating the #1 team in the nation. It cheapens your team's performance even more.

I'll take a "less-than-stellar" combined 7 hit shutout of an SEC team any day of the week.

A win against any SEC opponent is a great win for the program. Congratulations to the team and coaches, you make us proud!

Maybe the reporter should have asked the players what second base looked like.

Another MSU story:
Post-game at Dudy Noble Field: Game No. 52 - Central Arkansas 2, MSU 0 - Bulldogs shutout by non-SEC school for first time since 2004
Apparently our team "was in awe"of and "starstruck" by the facilities.
The game was apparently our "World Series."

I guess they missed the double header with Ole Miss and the game against Texas. MSU's RPI is 43. There are several Southland teams right behind them. (SHSU at 50; SELA at 55, TSU at 57) And all three of those have a better win % against the top 50.

Get over yourselves. You "a middle-of-road" SEC team by record. You lost. Nobody advanced to second. Your team batting average on the season is below .250. You rank pretty much last in every conference offense category. Stop making excuses like you weren't mentally ready for the game.

MSU vs. the SLC this season: 0-3... (SELA swept 2 games from them, and have won 3 or 4 in a row against them the last few years!)

Were the guys in 'awe' of their place, probably a little, yeah. It's always neat to see what these bigger schools have, no question about it. But seeing the 6 national title trophies at Texas lined up as you walk out of their clubhouse door and onto the field at DFF was way more 'awe' inspiring and 'star-striking' moments than anything Starkville had to offer on, or off the field. Heck, it's obvious Ole Miss has even passed them by, and then some, as well as far as facilities go. But as you said, we've played at Mizzou, at Ole Miss, and at Texas this year alone. We've beaten Ole Miss, Mizzou and Wichita State on the road before. And contrary to what the writer, or more importantly their 2-time former SLC Champion head coach thinks, in absolutely no way shape or form was this our 'World Series!' That's just asinine! They werent even ranked in the Top 25, much less in the top 10 like both Ole Miss and Wichita State were when we beat them on the road in the same season. If anything the Texas game would be WAY more close to that with all the native Texans on the team and the fact they are THE winningest program in college baseball history. I guess whatever makes him sleep better at night. What a jerk that guy is!

Btw, as pointed out earlier, we did play, and have been playing without our starting CF and SS who are both still out, and will be out.

And in case any of you were wondering, yes, at one point in BP, I did get closer to reaching 2nd base safely than anyone in their lineup did during the game last night!

Hey, MSU Coach..if your team was not ready to play what the crap were you doing this week? It is the coach's job to have the team ready. Did the players book the mid week game? Did you bother to check the scouting report or talk to your peer at Ole Miss? You might have calld the Mizzou coach and see what he has to say...this is two years in a row we split at COMO....Bears were certainly in awe at Texas...you can tell by the score....fact is SLC baseball is pretty good....another SEC team took 11 innngs last night to beat La Tech.....guess SEC teams just take mid week games for granted....

Just need to come home and win a series vs Sam..Go Bears!!

Just skimming through the article I noticed three misspellings and a Central Arkansas University reference.
