Season begins Friday at 3. Weather looks to be decent Friday and great Saturday and Sunday.
Maroon Bears went 31-23 (12-9) last season, finishing 4th in the MVC. Led by a pretty solid starting pitching staff and a pretty good freshman (Tate Matheny)
We haven't played them in a long time.

Talked to some of the guys a few days ago and rumor has it that the starting rotation for this weekend will be Biggerstaff on Friday, Gilmore on Saturday, and McClain on Sunday. I didn't hear anything about relievers or closers so it could just depend on the situation.

Been wondering if we'd find out the rotation before showing up to the games. Thanks.

Noticed today that one certain D1 baseball program in the state of
(ARKANSAS) got a front page article about its baseball teams opening day in the ADG newspaper...( I won't say which team of course )
The other four ( 4 ) DIVISION 1 programs that also play in the state of (ARKANSAS) barely a mention buried on page 4 of our beloved paper.
Even though one of these teams actually had a better record and progressed Farther in the NCAA REGIONALS last year of any team in the state. ( I won't say which team of course )
It's a shame that the kids from A-STATE, UALR, UAPB & UCA get a token mention In a paper with the name of the state on it.
It's high time that the ADG step up to the plate and give all programs the coverage They deserve...

Forecast goes to 0% in another hour or so and warms up to 55. Should still be a great weekend. Going to try to make it out tomorrow and/or Sunday.

So many new names. Mo state had good pitching and some nice hits down the first base line. We are young and this year will be fun but tough. Loved the game though. The weather was perfect. Let's get a win tomorrow.

Treece, a name we know, had a good start to the season. Another returner, Votolato, also did well at the plate. Unfortunately they combined for 5 of our 8 hits.
Rand really struggled, obviously. But you can't start a season with five defensive miscues either.
But it's baseball, so tomorrow is another day.

Biggs, the pitcher had a stop that would have easily led to a double play.
Short stop made one heck of a stop that he threw to first base that was dropped.
You are right Treece was awesome.
Many of the fans from Mo State remembered him from his great play vs Miss State last year.
I went to many games last year and this line up, with a few returners, just seemed timid at the plate. OR. Mo State just had good pitching.
Most of their players were tall and strong while our lineup had quite a variation in physical size. Treece sure made that point null though LOL.

Down 6-1 in the 8th... not starting the season off very well at all.
They have 13 hits to our 2.
