I don't see our starters out there. One of the coaches is laughing almost like he doesn't care about the game. UAPB looks like us from 2 years ago and they have tons of community college transfers. Hit after hit after hit!
Guess coach wants to save the team for conference.

I wasn't at the game, but there is never any reason good enough (other than injury) not to play your starters every game. Obviously you save your 3 weekend starters, but other than those 3 it should be all hands on deck. I said last week that UAPB was a tricky team, and unfortunately I was right. They have had a couple good wins on the road, and they picked up another one last night. Not a good way to begin the week after a sweep last week. I don't know why losing a midweek non-conference game bothers me so much, maybe just because it's UAPB. Have to get our head on straight come Friday. A big series win this weekend would keep us near the top of the SLC.

If you schedule a game, then play to win.....you can save your starting pitchers but we have good pitchers for mid week games...... these type losses are what hurts later if you are on the bubble for tourney bid....maybe we had nicks that neeeded to heal for the weekend....

Nicholls State at UCA
Game 1: Good to get back on winning track with a opening series shutout....Gilmore pitches superb 4-hit shutout complete game with with 4 Ks and only 1 BB....only 109 pitches....Hull was 3/4 with 2 rbis.....now 9-4/18-10 and solidly in SLC Top 4....

Berars fall short by 5-3 in Game 3.....not a good day at plate but had their chances in bottom of 9th and left a couple on base after scoring 2....no extra base hits..fals to 9-6/18-12
