Bears take care of Grambling in the opener, 8-2. Gilmore dominated Grambling as you'd hope/expect, going six scoreless. And our guys took advantage of four HBP.
And it looks like we found another Juco stud to come in and be our leadoff guy. Braxton Phillips went 3-for-4 with two walks.
Logan Preston was also great at the plate in his debut at shortstop. One of many new(ish) names to learn.
It's baseball season people!

Good start to another season for the Bears! I think the thing that impressed me most, besides Logan Preston hitting 3 jacks, was the pitching. It also seemed that every time our opponent scored we were able to answer (which is big).I had hoped this winter storm wouldn't keep the Bears from playing UALR so I could take a day off and sneak down to Conway, but oh well. Great weekend!
