Honestly I think we peaked during our 8 game win streak from April 28 - May 11. During that stretch we had a 3 game run where we outscored our opponents 55-12. We were pitching and hitting like no other point in the season in addition to our top notch (in the SLC anyway) fielding percentage. Then following that streak we went 1-7 and were outscored 50-23. It appears that we lost all three of the advantages we had during our streak during some of those games (pitching, fielding, hitting). Not all but some. Many teams that peak early still have a slow descent to their final end of season low and show some flashes of what got them there. Sadly for our guys our descent was steep and very fast. I hate the way it ended for Coach Gum and the players, especially the seniors that had a great run but the foundation is still there and is strong. We have good youth and good returning experience. Looking forward to next season! Go BEARS!!!

Thanks for the answer....sounds like alot went wrong. Sorry it ended the way it did.

Baseball is often a streaky game...........plus SLC is a solid league where an off game is a loss...........we also hit Nicholls on the road at the very time they were heating up......in two weeks we went from a chance at #2 seed to hanging onto #5...........Nicholls was playing to get in..........nonetheless our finish was disappointing as the team is overall solid with one of, it not the, best starting pitcher in the SLC.........we still won more than 30 games with a good schedule which is an accomplishment in D1........thanks to the seniors for all their contributions during their career and start preparing for the next season........Go Bears!!
