Since we have covered all the other players going to the NFL, how about some Justin Jones news on the Football board: :D

Here's a photo I found online:

I'm sure there's more out there and I will post it as soon as I find it. (Hope this hasn't been covered in another board. 8) )

I believe this is his contract: But don't hold your breath. All the experts seem to think he is practice squad material. But I have researched even deeper and see him backing up the line!

Important Note: The salary figures provided below DO NOT INCLUDE BONUS MONEY. Salary figures are provided by NFLPA.org.

Justin Jones $285,000 $370,000 $460,000

More news:

Justin Jones was signed by the Giants as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Central Arkansas after the 2007 NFL Draft. Jones combines good size and growth potential with fine athletic ability. He needs to get bigger and stronger. Raw – Jones needs a lot of technique work. Smart and mature. He was an All-Gulf South Conference first-team selection in 2005.

Not a good day 2 of Giants' minicamp for Justin:

Quote:
**OT Justin Jones (No. 77 white) got beat off the ball by DL Dek Bake (No. 77 blue). How can the same player beat himself? I must be at the nexus of the universe. Anyway, to add insult to mental error, Jones got reamed by OL coach Pat Flaherty for quitting on the play.

Oh yeah...quitting on the play...not the thing to do when you want to earn a spot on a limited roster...c'mon....you can do it!

Like Jacob, this isn't a great shot of Justin, but you can tell he's there. :)
He's #77...

Jones top-right

There was a transcript of an interview with the Oline coach, but Justin was never mentioned. Don't know if that's good or bad.

Tough to tell. You'd hope for a good mention, but at least there's no bad mention. Alas, the given the nature of the business and the general disposition of people in those positions – particularly in a place like New York – I think it's fairly indicative that he hasn't just blown anybody's socks off. And, with a guy that low-profile, it does you little good one way or the other to mention anything if he's performing well or not. So, my read on it is that it's more not good than good, but doesn't necessarily mean he won't stick. I obviously hope he does, though.

Yeah, that's pretty much my thoughts.
It was a long story where a lot of different linemen were mentioned, just not Justin.

Guess we'll find out soon.

Don't forget to look for Justin during the game tonight. Here's a nice story about the players visiting with kids at the hospital.

Saw Justin get in at the end of the game last night. He looked ok. No major foul-ups from what I could tell. But he was playing at right guard, not tackle. I checked the Giants.com roster and they have him listed as tackle there still. Guess it couldn't hurt his chances to get some reps in at guard as well.

They also had him listed at 305 lbs. John Madden said Lorenzen weighed in at 338 lbs. Quite the disparity. Madden and Michaels even went so far as to call Lorenzen the "John Daly" of the NFL

Madden doesn't have a hell of a lot of room to be talking about someone else's girth!

BTW BDF, yall had your first snow up there yet?

Haha! No snow yet. But it is a crisp 61 degrees out tonight. I'd be sleeping with the windows open if it weren't for all the damn traffic outside.

Like Pittman, Justin didn't make it passed the final cut by the Giants:

Quote:
Also released were tight end Charles Davis; wide receivers Brandon London and Kevin McMahan; offensive linemen Justin Jones
