Also worth noting: The Grasshoppers made a roster move before Thursday's game, transferring left-hander Andy Jackson to Jamestown of the Class-A short-season New York-Penn League and activating right-hander Christhian Martinez from the disabled list.

--- from the News-Record

He was 2-3 with an era over eight in 15 relief appearances.

The season starts today for Andy's new team/league.

There are three former Razorbacks in the league as well:
Duke Welker -State College- and Jess Todd - Batavia - were both first round picks.
Jake Dugger is also in the NY-P with Vermont.

Andy pitched very well in his only appearance last week. He came in after the starter only went 1.1 innings.

Andy got two groundouts to end the second inning, although a runner scored from third - not his runner. He then retired the next seven batters in order. The next guy reached on an error, so it could have been more because that was followed by a double play.

So, Andy faced 11 batters and got 11 outs.

Made his second appearance yesterday for the Jammers, pitching two scoreless innings to finish off a 6-1 loss.

He's still got an era of 0.00.

In the team's four losses, they've scored just a single run in each.

Andy's third game in relief. The team lost, but he wasn't involved in the decision.

3.2in 5h 2r 2er 2bb 2so 1hr

That bumped his ERA up to 1.93 - from 0.00.

Another short, solid outing on the fourth:

His ERA on the season is 1.64.

Jamestown Jammers pitcher Andy Jackson ejected by HP umpire Shea Gipson.

Now I know why Andy only pitched 1.2 innings on 7/4.

Quote:
During the course of that inning, Jamestown had Thomas Hickman ejected by plate umpire Shea Gibson for protesting being called out on strikes.

Gibson also had tossed Jamestown pitcher Andy Jackson on Wednesday for not agreeing with his calls.

It looks like Andy's playing for the Greensboro Grasshoppers this season.

Class A Affiliate for the Florida Marlins
Member of the South Atlantic League

Their stadium is fairly new and looks pretty similar to Baum in Fayetteville - before the recent upgrades/expansion - and Dickey-Stephens.
