Malham's career punctuated by multiple coaching honors

(EDITOR'S NOTE: This is another in a series by Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame director David Grimes about inductees into the hall with Faulkner County connections):
Mike Malham, Sr. was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in 1999 along with Ben Pearson, Keith Jackson, Pat Day, Al Joyner, Ronnie Caveness, and Jerry Jones.
Hailing from Brinkley, Malham was a three-year letterman at Arkansas State Teachers College, now UCA. He first played for coach Charles McGibbony and then coach Howard "Pee Wee" Montgomery.
An end, he was a member of Montgomery's 1947 8-1-1 Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference championship team that played in the Kickapoo Bowl in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the conclusion of that season. Malham was inducted into the UCA Sports Hall of Fame in 2006...
