Three years is getting there, but I was thinking numbers matching the years on the bottles of fine bourbons.

In geological terms you are still just an infant if that makes you feel any better. I still recommend you eat your prunes and keep your hover-around batteries charged. :)

I don't know if Lecuyer won the competition but I did see a very nice looking golfer at Centennial driving a nice BMW around.

Lecuyer makes her TV debut

Quote:
Christina Lecuyer is confident, articulate and doesn’t have a shy bone in her body, but she is her own worst critic when she sees herself in previews of the Golf Channel’s scheduled reality television series Big Break Ka’anapali.

“It’s a little difficult to watch yourself,” said Lecuyer, 25, a native of Edmonton, Alberta, who played college golf at Central Arkansas from 2004-2007 and lives in Conway. “I’m very competitive and in the moment and forget that they’re taping.

Big Break Ka'anapali - Episode 2 - The Eliminator (Not)

Quote:
How did you enjoy your first elimination challenge?

Well, I probably hit two of the worse shots I've ever hit... well maybe not ever hit... but I'm definitely not proud of the two golf shots I hit on this show, but hopefully there is more to come.

Christina is still hanging around on the show apparently. I never remember to watch, but this blog usually talks to her after every episode:

Big Break Ka'anapali: Double Trouble

Quote:
Now let's hear what Christina Lecuyer thought of the show...

So Christina, you're at home today before heading to my neck of the woods for a tournament later this month. It must be nice to have a chance to watch the BB with your family and friends.

Yes, except for my comment at the end of the show: "Did they not realize I was that good?" <laughs>

Everyone in the house is making fun of me right now. I can't believe I said that. I am trying to figure out what I was talking about and how I said that. You know I really don't remember.

It appears to be down to seven now. But even more interesting is what apparently happened on the last episode.

Tina eliminated from Big Break Ka’anapali

Quote:
Last night’s episode also featured the dreaded “C” word out of Christina Lecuyer’s mouth. I thought the Big Break producers would hype it up more but apparently they are saving some for next week’s episode. During the second challenge of the evening, Christina said that she hoped Tina choked on her shot to the green. When Tina missed her first shot, Christina practically shouted, “YES!” I guess fierce competition can bring the worst out of all of us. Or maybe Christina dreads the idea of being in the elimination round and will choke if she gets into one.

Lori has to love Christina for taking over as the new villain on The Big Break.

Quote:
After watching all the episodes, here’s my ranking on the remaining players:

7 - Courtney - that swing will not hold up under pressure
6 - Susan - dangerously clueless, has hit the two best bunker shots in big break history, has managed to pull through marvelously as well as kak in the heat of the moment
5 - Samantha - too much self-doubt to make it much further
4 - Lori - ugly swing but somehow makes it work
3 - Christina - has canned a number of clutch shots but shouldn’t be worried about others choking
2 - Kim - handles the pressure great but putting is suspect
1 - Sophie - has the most poise under pressure

TV show turns into claw-fest for contestants

The Big Break, which offers its winner a spot in an LPGA event, a season's worth of entry fees in a developmental tour and an endorsement contract with a club maker, is a wildly popular show (Tuesday nights on The Golf Channel), but all the petty sniping and thin-skinned competitors isn't portraying female athletes in a very good light. At least not some of these female athletes. It's so hissy sometimes you don't know if you're watching a sporting event or the lunch-room at a girls school.

"I was never a part of a sorority, I was always one of the guys, and it's hard getting into that situation, with 12 girls and a few of them getting catty," said Lecuyer, one of five players remaining after seven elimination episodes.
