BIRMINGHAM, Ala - Former University of Central Arkansas women's basketball standout Carone Harris was named the Gulf South Conference West Division Player of the Decade, while Caronica Randle and Genai Walker were named to the West Division All-Decade Second Team.
Harris, a guard from Bradley, Ark., played for the Sugar Bears from 2001-05 and was the GSC West Player of the Year three times. She was a three-time All-American and two-time South Region Player of the Year. Harris holds the league season record in points, steals and free throws made. She ranks second in school history with 2,447 career points and is the NCAA all-division leader with 667 career steals. Harris helped UCA to an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Semifinals in 2005.
The Sugar Bears were ranked as the second most successful GSC team of the decade, behind Delta State.
