Quote:
Sophomore defender Brandie Smith scored two goals to lead the Central Arkansas women's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Nicholls State in Southland Conference action on Friday afternoon. The Bears improve to 8-6-1 on the year and 4-3 in league play, heading into their final conference game of the year against first place Southeastern Louisiana. A win over the Lions would give first-year member UCA a chance at the Southland regular season title.

Is the game going to be in Hammond, La. or Conway? What day and what time?

1.) The article about how they "could" win the regular season title must have been a joke. They had 3 losses. There are still four teams with fewer than three losses - one is still undefeated. For them to have won it, it looks like they would have needed every team above them to lose every game the rest of the season.

2.) The ladies guaranteed that they will finish with at least a .500 record. They are one game over .500 now, and after cancelling their game against SEMO, they only have one game remaining.

The article said that UCA would need a win over Southeastern Louisiana for a CHANCE. That would have put the Bears at 5-3 instead of 4-4. Plus SLU would have been 3-1-2 with two games left. So theoretically, it could've happen. A lot of things would have had to happen, but they would have been still in the running with a win at that point.[/quote]

I understand that it "could" happen. But I could also win the lottery. I'm not going to write a story about it.
