Huge weekend in College Station taking 3 of 4.....2 over Texas Tech (ranked 32nd in USA Today poll) and one over Colorado State....congrats to the Softball Bears!!

Kayla Beaver pitches an excellent 6IP CG giving up only 1 ER on 6 hits with 5Ks....normally more than enough to get a win but not when you get blanked yourself.... Jenna Wildeman went 2/4...first two errors were on the same play...both a fielding and throwing error scored........no harm as runner LOB....the 3rd error was costly as the runner advanced to 3B on a hit and scored on a ground out....still a good overall effort against a quality team.....should be encouraging to the team....tough DH at #5LSU tomorrow........Go Softball Bears!!

Not trying to overlook anything, but this weekends game should be a tune-up to get ready for March 9th against Arkansas. Big game in Conway this Tuesday.

Really got behind but below is pretty impressive streak........now 12-7 on the season.....except for LSU none of those remotely compare to UAF on 3/9....hope we can get a crowd out rooting for UCA....Go Softball Bears!!

Well pitched and well played game....Jordan Johnson started in the circle and went 5.1IP giving up all 4 runs including two HRs but Ked 6 Hogs....Rio Sanchez closed out the game in relief with 1.2IP of hitless ball. Kaylyn Shepherd scored UCA's only run on a 1st inning HR. Regan Sperling and Tylar Vernon each went 2/3. Good outing and had their chances but credit UAF's pitcher for minimizing damage from the 9 base runners with 11Ks.

Now let's get ready for SLC play.....trips the next two weeks to McNeese and ACU...Go Softball Bears!!!

Softball Bears able to get one game and avoid the sweep.....won G2 by 5-4 and dropped G3 by 5-3.....left Lake Charles at 1-2/13-10......

Excellent pitching again....Beaver throws 4 hit shutout in 74 pitches with 5Ks....McNeese got a one out baserunner in 6th who advanced to 2nd on an error...score don a single two batters later...that's the game...try again tomorrow....

Big win for a big SLC sweep.....Beaver gets the complete game win on 75 pitches in 5IP....although gave up a double , a triple and a HR....Mary Kate Brown went 3/3 with 4 rbis including a double and a triple....Jenna Wildeman goes 2/3 with 3 rbis....and Jaylee Engelkes goes 3/3 with 2 rbis and a double.....

Now for a trip to Starkvegas on Tue for the Bulldogs then back home go a another big SLC series vs Sam....

Kayla Beaver (Jackson, TN) gets the complete game win including 7Ks while facing only 26 batters.....Jaylee Engelkes (Greenbrier) goes 1/3 with a double and 2 rbis....Tylar Vernon (Pangburn) also goes 1/3 with 2 rbis....UCA benefited from 6 BBs, 4 errors and 4 unearned runs.....still four in the top of 1st sealed the deal early featuring singles by Jenna Wildeman (Bentonville), Mary Kate Brown (Atkins) and Vernon being HBP and an error....



Just a note....looks like we have found D1 level players in state....13 of the 22 players from in state.....good mix with others states.....Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia

Just my opinion...but I think this is the best team that Coach Kuhn
and his staff have had at UCA.

For sure. The program has come pretty far from where it was just a few years ago. Hanging with any top 25 team they place. Looking to continue competing in the Atlantic Sun.
