This is a good XC region within NCAA but not the best...Arkansas, Texas and Texas A&M generally dominate....impressive that Arkansas State men came in 4th...Red Wolves have several very good distance runners....this was 6K for women and 10K for me...meet at College Station....looks like not only were missing our top women but one of the top men....note that top women in NCAA run in 19s while men in the 28s....weather conditions and difficulty of course are major factors in XC....the times looked a bit slow so course and weather may have affected times...these are very large races.....note former SugarBear Gracie Hyde now running for Arkansas was an impressive 11th...kudos to Sugar Bear Ali Nactigal for a 6k PR...I have watched her run since junior high and she is a more of a miler and 3000k runner and having to learn the longer races....

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The University of Central Arkansas Bears Men's and Women's Cross Country teams traveled to Texas A&M for the NCAA South Central Regional Championships. Ali Nachtigal led the women's team and Julian Haessner led the men's team. Out of 27 teams, the women's team placed 26th and out of 27 teams, the men's team placed 16th.

From the Coach – Head Coach Josey Weaver
"Tough day for our women today. Honestly, it's been a tough week. We came down to the biggest meet of the year without three of our top five girls. That's hard for anyone to overcome. We are leaving with much needed experience and a few PRs to keep the momentum building toward indoor track.

Our men ran well upfront. That;s been the case all year. I enjoyed watching our seniors rise to the occasion. This has been a season of many lessons. Both for our team and myself. We are learning who we are now, and the work that must be put in to become who we want to be. It's an exciting time to build toward that expectation."
