"Of the non-Power 5s, Central Arkansas, Louisiana, and Wichita State are the only teams that I think are absolute slam dunks to get in."

Interesting discussion ...great season.....not to finish it off with a long run of wins!!

Just my observation over this past few weeks:

It appears that Jordan Johnson has shouldered the load of innings pitching game 1 and 3 with KB pitching game 2. And with no midweek games over the past few weeks JJ’s innings have piled up. In addition Kayla Beaver has now come on in relief each of JJ’s last 3 starts. Would we be ahead to have KB go in games 1 & 2 this next weekend and have JJ go in game 2? Might keep her a little more fresh for the postseason and keep their innings just a little more even headed into the most important part of the year.

As much as I hate to see the Softball games after this season not be free anymore, glad to see the success the team is having!

Wish I was close enough to get to softball games and gladly pay to see the games....always nice when free but they are worthy of the gate and we certainly can use to support the program.......

Not sure about how to use softball pitchers...both Jordan and Kayla have done superb work this season....normally they would get some rest before the conference tourney to be well rested in making a run for the seed....however, being ranked as we are winning more games helps with any NCAA seed we can get .....maybe we will see some others in the circle this weekend if we can get good leads....fortunately Coach gets to make these decisions....

From Oklahoman article:

"Mid-Major breakthrough?
Central Arkansas: Back in 2021, James Madison made waves by not only making the WCWS field but by knocking off top-seeded OU and No. 5 seed Oklahoma State in the first two games.

But a mid-major breaking through to even make the field has been fairly rare.

Prior to the Dukes’ run, the last mid-major to make the field was Louisiana in 2014 and the last team to win a WCWS game was Hawaii in 2010.

There are a few mid-major teams with a chance to make the field if things fall right — Louisiana is once again poised for a deep postseason run and Boston just had a 28-game winning streak snapped — but the pick here is Central Arkansas.

The Bears are 39-9, climbing into the top 25 and sweeping a three-game series against Lipscomb over the weekend by a combined 32-1.

Like Minnesota, what sets Central Arkansas apart is pitching.

The Bears have a 1.44 team ERA — behind only OU and Clemson nationally — and are led by Kayla Beaver, who is 20-6 with a 1.21 ERA and 169 strikeouts in 161 ⅔ innings."

Seems they overlooked the ASUN Pitcher of the Year.....looks like we have two very solid pitchers...

Really? You think D1 softball should have free admission?
Charging for access to the games is long overdue.
UCA has enough budget constraints already…

Every dollar matters… these kids deserve the very best
the university can give them… after all they have given
their best. =D>

Well we become the first team in the ASUN tournament to be shutout. Lose 2-0 to UNA. Will now face APSU around 4:30. We better figure some things out at the plate soon.

Guess we used up all our offense this past weekend. Should have saved juice.

Found some offense to knock APSU out of the tournament 10-1 in 5! Just keep winning!
