I suspect with most of the athletic department staff gone to the Gulf South meeting that nothing will be done on this for several days.

I hope whoever the coach is RUNS to Vilonia to lock in Amanda Burgess. That young lady is a quality player and leader.

If they run to Vilonia for Amanda Burgess, they aren't going to find her. Amanda is at Greenbrier and yes she is a great player and UCA should definitely pick her up.

But at least she did have a winning record while at Tech.

interesting hire...

a coach from a smaller school in Oklahoma, previously coached in the midwest, with a mediocre won-loss record...what gives??

Is there a connection here?? anyone have an idea why this guy stood out above the others....or was the pool of applicants that small.

who knows, I'm not even close to knowing anything about our softball program other than they have been mediocre at best. BEing this late into the summer/classes starting soon and with the timeframe they had to work with, this may have been the best choice?

I wondered the same thing. His overall record is not that bad, but definitely not what I was expecting. I just thought this would be the last hire to "solidify" the coaching staff.

I could see every coach we have (not including the new guy) doing well after the (potential) move up. I'm not so sure about Kissel. But hey, all I know are stats and they don't always tell everything. Don't mistake my comments for not giving the guy a chance, cause I certainly will.

I have heard he is a great motivator.....maybe he can get them fired up.
