Men's soccer battled MO State to a 0-0 tie today in soccer action. The last couple of games were against futre Missouri Valley Conference mates.

The Missouri State men's soccer team (1-1-1) travelled to Conway, Ark., today, and battled Central Arkansas (2-2-1) to a scoreless draw at Farris Field.

Missouri State goalkeeper Alex Riggs made four saves to record his first shutout of the season. Riggs made two of his saves during overtime.

The Missouri State offense garnered 20 shots in the match. Johannes Demarzi led the way with four shots and Ryan Hennessy added three shots. David Buckenheimer, Heath Melugin, Paul Paradise, Thomas Vania and Kyle Windmueller recorded two shots apiece.

The Bears pressed the ball into the UCA zone often as Missouri State earned eight corner kicks in the match.

"It was a hard-fought match today," stated head coach Jon Leamy. "They are a spirited team and we were able to come away with a draw."

Missouri State will return home on Wednesday, September 16 to host Centenary College (La.) at Plaster Field with a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
