well at least they bounced back with a 4-1 win yesterday in a shortened game.

And while four goals in one half is pretty good, it sure ain't this...

Bears ready to kick it
The UCA women's soccer team will play Oral Roberts on Friday at 3 p.m. in the first home game of the season. It is also the first game at the new soccer and track complex.
The Bears are 3-2 on the season and ready to play on their home turf, coach Tina Banham said.

"I think it's exciting. Obviously it's our first home game and also our first game on our new field," Banham said. "For the girls, it's been a long time coming ? waiting on that field ? it will make us that much more excited to play on Friday."

Banham said the Bears have a smaller roster than usual for a soccer team, but the players are in good health.

I attended this game and the field was excellent! Also went over to the softball field and watched the ladies practice. Saw pallets of stone still laying around the complex. Guess more work needs to be done. Overall good crowd..say 200 or so total.

BEARS END HOME DROUGHT, BEAT SOUTHERN 3-0

CONWAY — It took three games, but freshman midfielder Elizabeth Brady finally scored UCA’s first goal at its new home field and the Bears tacked on two more to cruise to a 3-0 victory over Southern University on Sunday for their first home win of the season.

“It was nice go break that streak and get some goals,” UCA head coach Tina Banham said. “We had a tough game earlier in the week and had a slow start today, but I was happy that we were able to come out in the second half and create some chances, score some goals and get a win at home.”
