LAKE CHARLES, La _ Junior C.J. Bobbitt won medalist honors in a playoff Tuesday and carried the University of Central Arkansas women's golf team to the championship of the McNeese State Cowgirl Fall Invitational.

Bobbitt, from Rogers, survived an opening-round 83 and came back with rounds of 71 and 70 and finished tied with Lamar's Linda Persson. Bobbitt and Persson both birdied the first playoff hole before Persson missed a three-foot par putt and Bobbitt nailed her two-footer for the win.

SPRINGHILL, La _ All-Tournament performances from Steven Lecuyer and Gideon Pienaar led the University of Central Arkansas men's golf team to a tie for third place finish in the Southeastern Louisiana Carter Plantation Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
