It's been a good start to the weekend for baseball and softball.
They won the second game 4-0 to put the conference record at 3-5, much better than 1-5. Going for the sweep tomorrow at noon.

Today was so much fun watching the softball team defeating the Lady Lions. In fact, I believe today's games were the two best games UCA has played since moving to SLC and Division. Offense, defense, and pitching the Bears put it altogether. Hopefully the weather will not be too bad so we can go for the sweep tomorrow.

Maybe I was the good luck charm.

Erod said they were at 10 and 2! Somebody's slipping! (just kidding) I saw on ucasports where they moved it up.....a little too late though....

HB, what are you doing say around noon? We could play tomorrow. BC, don't fogret, NOON! Oh, I do suggest wearing in warm clothes because it is supposed to be cold. Just saying.

Don't really know yet. Will keep an eye on the weather. Doesn't look promising the last time I checked.

This weekend has been filled with great UCA Sports news, and it just keeps getting better.

Track: Another solid week for our men's and woment's track teams at the Rhodes Invitational in Memphis. They recorded 23 qualifying marks for the Southland Outdoor Conference Championships. Also, the women's 4 x 400 relay team won the race and broke a school record. Sopomore Heather Estetter broke a school record in 1500 meter individual race. Plus congrats to Sophomores Jaron Criswell and Sage Raphael and junior Donovan Loring. Criswell won the long jump event. Loring won the triple jump and Raphael won the 400 meters. Congrats to the both track teams.

Women's Golf: They had another solid finish by placing third at the Monterey Invitational in California. Fellow SLC member Lamar won the event. Every member of the team finished in the top 25, lead by senior Rebecca Sorensen, who finished sixth.

Next up: UALR Golf Classic starting April 3 in Hot Springs.

This week's hitter honorable mentions are Central Arkansas junior Shayleen Ristau... Pitcher honorable mentions are Central Arkansas freshman Kelsie Armstrong... To receive an honorable mention, a player must receive votes from 25 percent of the Southland softball sports information directors.

Sugar Bears win the first game of the doubleheader against Alcorn St. 6-2.

Lost the second...

3-0. Darn.

Softball loses a couple of heartbreakers at Nicholls State. 3-2 in both games today. The Bears are now 3-7 in conference play. Both teams wrap up the series tomorrow at 1.

Tennis team is back in Arkansas. They went 1 for 3 in a tournament in Orlando, Fla. last week. They defeated Wisconsin Stevens-Point 7-0. They return to Southland play with a home match tomorrow against UTSA at 10.

Softball got swept today by Nicholls 9-1 in 5 innings.

Tennis lost their final home match of the season 6-1 to UTSA today. The SugarBears have four matches left this season, all on the road. Next up for them is Friday against Nicholls State in Louisiana.

Quick update: Softball plays nine out of their next ten at home starting Tuesday in a doubleheader against Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville beginning at two. They definitely need our support.
