Bears and Sugarbears now have athletes qualified in 50 events for the SLC meet at NWS. Hard to say how that will translate into points but you first have to get to the meet. Everyone needs to step it up and not be satisfied with getting to the SLCs.

SLC meet at Northwestern State

Day 1 (5/13):
Only two finals, discus and 10k. SFA leads men with 27 points and women's with 23.

UCA Jasmine Ellis is in a strong 5th in the heptathlon after four events with 2969 points, only 85 points out of 3rd. Hep finishes up with final three events Saturday.

Men: SFA leads UTA and UTSA by 82-58.50-55.50 with UCA in 7th with 15 points

Women: SFAA leads NWS and TSU by 63.50-49-38 with UCA in 9th with 11 points

UCA points on Day 2:

MLJ: Jaron Criswell takes the win at 7.55m or 24' 9.25" (10 pts)
(Jaron's mark would have placed 10th in SEC Meet today..best jumps conference in US.)
MHJ: Bobby Washington was 5th at 2.05m or 6' 8.75" (4 pts)
MJT: Sohji Izuma was 8th at 56.44m or 185' 2" (1 pt)

WHep: Jasmine Ellis takes 2nd with 4888 score (8 pts)
WHJ: Jasmine Ellis was tied for 4th at 1.61m or 5' 3.25" (3 pts)

Qualifers for Day 3:

M110mh: DeMarcus Harrison advanecs with 8th best time
M400m: Sage Raphael advances with best overall time (47.86)

W1500m: Courtney Efurd advances with 8th best time at 4:46.07 (new UCA record and maybe personal PR)
W100mh: Jasmine Ellis advanecs with 5th best time
W100m: Tanesha Maxwell advances with 7th best time

Near Misses:

M1500m: Amos Gerber missed advancing by one second
M800: Michael Allen misses advancing by .07 seconds
MLJ: Jeremy Stuckey was 9th and just missed scoring

Day 3 (May 15)

UCA top performers on Day 3 were:

MTJ: Donavan Loring, 3rd, 50' 5.5"
W100mh: Jasmine Ellis, 6th, 14.24
M400: Sage Raphael, 6th, 47.97
M110mh: DeMarcus Harrison, 7th, 14.75
W4x1: UCA 8th, 47.42 (Megan Snow, Jasmine Ellis, Anilah Bashir, Tamesha Maxwell)
W100m: Tamesha Maxwell, 8th, 12.75
W4x4: UCA, 8th, 3:55 (Jasmine Elllis, Jasmine Johnson, Jasmine Coleman, Jordan Chadwick)

McKinley Rea just missed scoring in the WPV, Courtney Efurd fell a bit short in the W1500m and Amos Gerber found himsdelf ina very competitive M5000m where the Top 10 were within 20 seconds...Gerber got 9th.
