inShare.CONWAY, Ark. – For the second time this season in three weeks, a UCA Bear has been named the Southland Conference Hitter of the Week.
Tiffany Roby, a freshman third baseman, has garnered the honors after a week in which she belted four home runs in five games played. The North Little Rock, Ark. native joins Kasey Britt as the other Southland Hitter of the Week recipient so far in 2012.
Roby’s week was highlighted by a 4-for-4 two home run effort in a 10-1 victory over Bradley Friday night at the Phyllis Rafter Memorial Classic in Woodstock, Ga. Roby also added solo shots in a 4-3 loss to Georgia State and in a 7-4 victory over Saint Louis.
On the weekend, Roby finished 8-for-16 at the plate with four home runs, six RBI and seven runs scored in five games played. She posted an on base percentage of .529 and an incredible slugging percentage of 1.375.
Roby and the rest of the UCA Bears will be back in action on Wednesday when they take on UAPB in a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
Congrats to miss Roby on a pretty impressive 5 game stretch. Those are solid
numbers being put up by a true freshman.
