I have said before that soccer is not my game and I really struggle to figure out the rules...….but if the Bears play a sport I am a booster of all our teams...…..

https://ucasports.com/news/2019/8/6/breaking-down-the-bears-mens-soccer-forwards.aspx

Men move to Sunbelt this season...…..MVC was really good soccer and Bears did really well in recent years (including a trip to NCAAs and played a very good SMU team in first round) ...….teams are App State, Coastal Carolina, Ga State, Ga Southern and Howard...…..we beat Ga State 2-1 last fall.....Bears led by NCAA D1 leading scorer over past three years...….

"Niklas Brodacki, the lone senior of the group and second-year captain for the team, is coming off back-to-back MVC Player of the Year honors and will look to makes the same waves in the Sun Belt.

The Swedish playmaker is a three-year starter who has been turning heads with his goal scoring ability since arriving in Conway in 2016. Brodacki heads into the 2019 campaign as the nation's leading goal scorer among all Division-I returners with 39 goals and will continue to be relied upon to put the ball in the back of the net."

UCA Women fall in opening game on the road at Arizona State by 7-1.....tied 1-1 mid first half....could only manage 3 shots all night while Sun Devils had 19......9 shots on goal and 7 made...….that doe snot sound like our defense is quite ready for prime time...…...humbling game but that is how to get to see what it takes to compete at next level...………

Home opener on Friday vs Missouri State at 5pm

https://ucasports.com/news/2019/10/29/mens-soccer-brodacki-named-sun-belt-conference-offensive-player-of-the-week.aspx

Folks on here know I am not a big soccer fan but give credit where due...…...if you have not seen Niklas Brodacki play.....he is really, really good...………his last regular season home match is 7pm on November 9 vs Howard.....

NEW ORLEANS, LA. - Central Arkansas senior striker Niklas Brodacki has been named Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week by the league office this morning. It is the second time this season the Swedish International has received the award and is having another stout season at UCA.

Brodacki is now at ten goals on the season. In Central Arkansas's matchup against Memphis, who was ranked #23 in the country at the time and was coming off an upset victory over then #3 ranked SMU, he scored a hat-trick in the first half and helped lead the Bears to an impressive 4-1 victory. With that hat-trick he also became UCA's all-time leading goal scorer with 49 career goals and still has three matches minimum to try and extend that tally.

Brodacki would add an assist to his already impressive week in Central Arkansas's match against Oral Roberts this past Sunday, giving him a total of seven points and a season total of 22.

The Bears currently sit in a three-way tie for first place in the Sun Belt Conference standings with a conference record of 2-1. They will try to make it three victories this Saturday as they travel to Atlanta, Georgia to take on Georgia State University. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 PM.

Very nice honor for Brodacki………..

CONWAY, Ark _ After a stellar senior campaign, senior striker Niklas Brodacki was named to the All-Southeast Region team from the United Soccer Coaches.

The Norrkoping, Sweeden native capped off a career that consisted of a program record 50 career goals, a program-best three conference player of the year honors (two in the MVC, one in the Sun Belt Conference) and three MVC Offensive Player of the Year honors.

Brodacki will look to continue his soccer career on the professional level and will participate in a combine hosted in Las Vegas in the near future.
