Univ. of Central Oklahoma is doing the same thing. They too would like to join the Southland or Sun Belt. I guess the question for the Sun Belt and Southland is how big do they want to be?

obviously not that we dont believe you, but do you have a link for UCO's announcement? So we can read up on them. Known people who've been there before...

That would be an interesting mix having an Oklahoma school in the SLC as well...

Yes they play football...use to be pretty good in the NAIA years, however, I'm not sure about their years in D-II.

UCA use to play UCO in men and womens basketball on a regular basis.

Just looked it up...no way they can join the Sunbelt (for football anyway) they averaged 3,295/game last season! They do have a very nice 10,000 seat stadium though...http://www.bronchosports.com/PhotoAlbum.dbml

I forgot to add this last week when you brought this up, but when we moved from NAIA to D2 and joined the Gulf South Conference, a school named Belmont was supposed to join us in the GSC at the same time. When it came time to join, they backed out and did not join the GSC, instead opting to jump straight from NAIA to Division 1. So it's not unheard of and it can work, as eveidenced by them.

Oklahoma City would NOT be good.

We use to refer to them as an outlaw school. They also do not have football.

I repeat, this would NOT be good.

Back when the Bears played them in basketball during the NAIA years, OCU always had a boat load of transfers that were , to say the least, questionable.

They had transfers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and even Kentucky.

Do you remember the Eric Manuel scandal at Kentucky...heck, he transferred to OCU.

Anyone that deals with them NEEDS to be VERY careful.
