Two-time and reigning SLC coach of the year.
Most career and season (2007) wins in school history.
3 consecutive 20 win seasons.
2 NCAA tourney appearances last three years.

I guess the nearly 30 years of coaching was enough for her. It sounds like she had a pretty good career in HS and college. It may be good for us that she left.

Wow...that is some record! That just moves the Sugarbears that much closer to the top!

Mindy Newlee joins Lady Demon basketball staff
6/21/2007
WOMEN'S HOOPS: Newlee served as a graduate assistant for NSU during the 2002-03 season

NATCHITOCHES – Mindy Lasater Newlee, a former Northwestern State graduate assistant coach who helped recruit players who took Idaho State to last year’s NCAA Tournament, has returned to the Lady Demons basketball program as an assistant coach...

Congrats to her! I know some of you on here know who this is from when she played her college ball at tech. I wish her the best of luck after growing up with here in C'ville. That being said, I hope we kick the crap out of the Demons every time we play them! :D

I hope we just score more points than they do. Crap kickings can go both ways but only one team can score the most points.

Alot of you boys and girls are too young to know this, but Mindy came oh so close to being a Sugarbear.

I don't remember all of the details, but I believe she actually committed to UCA and then a few days before signing day had a change of heart and signed with Tech.

I know nothing about her coaching abilities, but she was a helluva player.

Burly Bear :)
