MCCOLLUM'S COLUMN: Bomar making positive impact at Sam Houston

Rhett Bomar was the elephant not present in any room at Southland Conference Media Days last week.

He still got his share of attention, through teammates and by questioning of Sam Houston State coach Todd Whitten. Bomar, whose name now lives in infamy among Oklahoma University fans, is now the starting quarterback for Sam Houston State and one of the most famous transfers in SLC history.

A reporter asked Whitten if there was any question about Bomar that he hasn't been asked in the last year. "Not that I can think of," Whitten said...

yeah, I'm not as concerned about that. The fact he at least attempts to call it the correct name is a step up from a majority of columnists in the country at this point! :wink:
