FORT WORTH – There's no denying the UT-Arlington men have something going here.
The Mavericks' loud and expressive fans, fueled by a school-best 8-0 start, took over TCU's Daniel-Meyer Coliseum on Monday night.
But the Horned Frogs made their own statement: TCU still owns this Tarrant County rivalry.
The Frogs outlasted UTA in overtime, 77-74, in front of 3,890, spoiling the Mavericks' previously perfect record. The loss prevented the Mavericks, whose streak included wins at Wichita State and over North Texas, from tying a school record for consecutive victories.
UTA (8-1) hasn't defeated TCU (6-3) since 1981.
