Student fees at Southeastern Louisiana University could go up next year, if the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors approves a student referendum on the issue on Friday.
Southeastern’s Student Government Association Senate passed a resolution on Oct. 25 requesting a student vote on increases in some of their self-assessed fees.
That request must be approved by the UL System board before the referendum can be held during SGA elections in the spring.
Students currently pay $145.75 per semester in self-assessed fees, in addition to $84.95 in university-assessed fees, $212.60 in board-assessed fees and a $60 technology fee, according to information provided by the university.
