now when he is congratulated on 3,000 hits is that base hits or is that hits on the needle.

some of it I already believed him on....I just think he overstated some of the stuff and still made up other stuff to sell his book. But I have no doubt he is telling the truth on some of this stuff.

Steroids didnt have anything to do with the 3,000 hits, but it did help those 500+ home runs. I guess Canseco did give it to Raffy in the back door, the Needle that is.

I would say the 'roids did have something to do with the 3,000 hits.

I believe we'll all agree that the juice makes you stronger and obviously hit the ball harder ... since we all agree that it helped to inflate his homerun total.

That being said, if it helps a player hit the ball harder, do you not think hitting the ball harder equates to more base hits? Sure, it takes the hand-eye coordination to put bat on ball, but from there on the strength factor comes into play. A piddly roller to an infielder isn't going for a hit. A rocket shot gets through the hole or makes the fielder cower in fear, and the end result is a base hit.

A lazy fly is an out (or an error), a line drive or a long fly ball off the wall or one that gets beyond the D is a base hit. Some of that 'roid strength probably contributes to that.

So, I will never buy into the argument that players who juice would've had the same hit total with or without any help. Yeah, natural talent gets bat on ball, but that's only part of the battle.

Well considering conseco I honestly didnt believe a word he said at first, now I its hard not to believe the truth, now that it has come out on someone he actually mentioned, not only that the man that went before the court and swore up one side and down another that he DID NOT TAKE STEROIDS. I really like Rafy but I think that he made a huge mistake with his career.

Now as far as hitting the ball.... I believe the roids did contribute SOME to him getting to 3000 hits and 500+ homeruns, but lets think about it for a sec. The man had to be somewhat good to even make it to the league in the first place. Yea maybe he might not have gotten to those totals but I mean he his talented. I truthfully think that the baseball world is going to come unglued when they find out if Bonds has or hasn't....I mean look at everyone now after seeing Rafy!

minor coincidence from today I know I'm pushing it on this on...but we havent heard much from Bonds about a possible comeback, but all of a sudden Raffy gets nailed today and then Bonds comes out today and says he likely wont play at all this season....
