Anybody want to help find ASU a new non-abusive mascot?

*SIGH* what a sad day in ASU history
over 75 years of tradition and history is completed flushed down the can

there goes my two football jerseys, dozens of shirts, hats, socks, car license plates and bumber sticker, windshield sticker, shot glass, beer mug, various of game day magazines and programs, videos, pictures, and mostly memories from the days my pops, mama, aunt, uncle and various of cousins went.....

but i'm willing to move on and offically throwing my vote for the arkansas state scarlet wolves

Wait here is another one...we can use the napolean dynamite theme and call them the ASU ligars!

right and we're all shaking whenever we see a purple bear

and for the record, i would be totally fine with ligers (esepcially when you have heard the alternate mascots that i've heard like "ivory bill woodpeckers", "peckers", "the scarlet", and ridgerunners to name some)

Are you being serious? Some of those are actual considerations, as well as Scarlet Wolves? What are some other ones that have been nominated, so to speak, I havent been keeping up with this situation too much. Ridgerunners doesnt seem to be too bad an idea just looking at it and how it fits into NEA geography, if that is what ASU is going for.

Some of those I kinda like, just at first glance. There are a couple I dont think ASU would go for, but then again what do I know. 'Black Bears' I cant see them doing that because, well, us. SEMO is the 'Red Hawks', that would be two schools relatively close to one another with the same name as well.

if somehow we go back to being the gorillas again or even the impossible and become anything remotely to do with ivory bill or "Pecker"........i will burn every memorbilla that has "arkansas state university" associated with the word "peckers"....

scarlet wolves doesn't sound bad at all. it beats being an ANTEATER or a WONDER BOY how intimidating are those mascots.

I dont know, anteater may not be intimidating...but their baseball team (UC-Irvine) is still playing the college world series

As for wonder boy...it speaks for itself...it is just pitiful in my eyes. Golden Sun isn't too bad I dont guess for the women's programs. I like Boll Weevil and Cotton Blossoms better

What about the ArrowHeads? It is an artifact that was used by a soon to be forgotten people.

My personal favorite is the Arkansas State Fightin' Farmers!!!

Lewisville, TX HS I believe are already the Fightin Farmers. Also may want to make sure some farmer out there doesn't find the mascot abusive toward their profession and get written approval from the NCAA on choices of mascot considerations.

I think that since the NCAA allowed mascots to be allowed in the first place that they should have to pay all the universities for the cost of replacing the indian mascots.
