What is the latest on Auburn's coaching search? Has Houston Nutt climbed to the top of the list? What about Jimbo Fisher, Will Muschamp and all the other candidates? Check inside if you want up-to-the-minute updates on the latest news on the search.

As long as Saban is at Alabummer the Auburn Tigers are going to be a distance second fiddle in the recruiting department in the state and elsewhere. Saw on the ESPiN ticker yesterday where 5 oral commitments to Auburn decommitted after hearing about TT leaving. Not sure Nutty wants to step into that scenario but money talks and Houston walks, maybe.

Ole Miss AD seems a little upset about all of this....

AD Pete Boone and chancellor Robert Khayat emerged from Houston's office a moment ago. Mr. Boone was not pleased to see me here. A following exchange:

Was that meeting in there about Auburn? "I'm not going to talk to you about that."

Is Houston going to get a raise? "I'm not going to talk to you about that."

Is your relationship with Houston OK right now? "I told you I'm not going to talk about that."

Chancellor Khayat was cordial but said he couldn't talk about it. And that's where we're at here at the IPF...

As Scott Van Pelt on ESPN said last week, the next Auburn coach has to (a) dominate Bama for the next decade, (b) go to bowls game almost every year, most often games played in January, (c) be regularly ranked in the Top 15, (d) have a winning reocrd against Top 20 teams and (c) win 85 of the next 120 games...just to equal Tommy (Arkansas native) Tuberville. Good luck to the next guy and get a good buyout provision.

Sounds like Nebraska all over again with HDN. OM begining to see who they really got.

Not sure how Awbern thinks they will do better than Tubbs, but I always liked him as a coach.

As mentioned earlier, as long as Saban is in Tuscaloosa, it will mean bad times for them.

One commentator also mentioned an interesting point about Auburn. Auburn used to get some of the mariginal guys from Florida that might not fight the measurables of Fla, Fla St, or Bummer. Now, those guys have many more "big time" D-1 options in the state of Florida. South Florida, Central Florida, and the Florida schools of the Sun Belt are keeping those players.

Man you have to give it up for Nutt's agent for starting that rumor and getting him more money!
