What in the world are the Injuns, err, Red Wolves thinking with that schedule??

Nebraska, Iowa, and Louisville??

I don't understand 3 BCS teams for non-conf games like that, unless it is purely financial.

I see that Louisville is a series, but it seems like a lot to bite off in one year.

oh well....good luck with that.

You just answered your own question. They are getting $750k for the Nebraska game, and Iowa is passing them a cool $900k.

If your team isn't good enough to go undefeated for the whole year, then the best you're going to do is the New Orleans Bowl or whatever and that's based strictly on winning your conference, so you might as well make the most, financially, of your OOC schedule. And those are fun games for the fans to go see. Especially if you can pull an upset like they did this year with Texas A&M.

If you get the chance to cover a good chunk of your athletic dept. costs with two football games – get after it. And then getting $200,000 from Louisville on top of that, plus getting that home gate next year (even though you're shelling out $200,000 back to them, you still come out ahead I would imagine) is a pretty good deal.

It is the only way they have a chance at a BCS bowl.

First of all, it's not ASU-J anymore than it's UCA-C.

It's not purely financial but the post above is correct that it's nice to make an easy $1.65 million in two games. Louisville is a return game and it sets us up for 6 home games for the next three years at a minimum.

UCA plays two money games this year as well and as someone pointed out, winning conference is the plan. Knocking off a Nebraska or Iowa is icing on the cake and if you do it then it really stings because they paid you so much to get beat.

It is more balanced than last year at least and like I said, it sets up future schedules well with Memphis, Army and Louisville coming to ASU.

This year's team should be a really good team along with one of the more experienced in recent years. Kudos to them for getting Louisville at home next year.

I think the point was that it wasn't your football powerhouse ASU-Beebe.   There is only one UCA. There is no UCA-Morrilton or UCA-Texarkana.   Freakin' hilarous. But there is a uaf.

Glad to see ASU taking on three "name teams".........Bears taking on two FBS will be good to measure where we are as a program even in WK is not near Hawaii level. Enjoy Iowa City...if you can.....people say it is a pretty town when not under snow or uunder water....I have only seen it under dirty snow. You might be catching Huskers on the rise but you might also catch them off guard. Nice to get h-and-h with Louisville.

just for the record, Crump.....

I love Injuns fans that consistently refer to the UofA as UAF, but do not like the tables to be turned to ASU-J.

As mentioned above, ASU has a system of campi, while UCA is one campus. So, technically, ASU-J makes a whole heckuva lot more sense than UCA-C.

Glad to see you took ASU-J as a slight and got fired up!!

I meant it that way. \:D/

Crump when is the series against Army to begin. I remember the first time our agency had a couple of officers that got to escort and dine with a general. That was cool. Also, my diploma says Arkansas State University, no ASU-J crap.

Having a system of campuses as a good thing but none of our satellites play sports. UA has UAM, UAPB and UALR off the top of my head. There is a NEED for distinction. I assume you are a big UAF fan. Congratulations. Your parents must be proud. 8)

ahhh....another "clear" distinction in the eyes of an Injun fan. :D

I'm sure you will correct me if I am wrong, but didn't ASU-Beebe formerly play basketball?? so maybe the need for distinction changes over time.

FYI, I am a Bears fan and a Hogs fan. Unlike some here, I don't think those are mutually exlcusive.

However, as a UCA grad, my financial support goes to the Purple Circle, not the RF.

Nice attempt at trying to separate me from my Bear brothers....ain't gonna happen.

Obamanism. Haven't you heard that everyone will be equal in wealth, health, and the pursuit of happiness during his administration?
