So Nate nor Bomar go on Day #1......

Biggest surprise of the draft by far was Josh Freeman going at #17. Are you kidding me???? This is a kid that looked absolutely awful at the combine.

Wow.

Gut feeling time. Not looking too good, imo. Will be keeping my fingers crossed today for the two Bears. [-o<

Cincinnati picked Abilene Christian RB Bernard Scott with the last pick of the 6th round.

If that name sounds familiar to you, recall that he was the 2004 Gulf South Freshman of the Year when he was a running back here at UCA.

I recalled him being pretty darn good while he was here at UCA! Too bad he wasn't able to stick around!

Has anyone ever on the planet heard of a QB from West Texas A&M named Keith Null????

How in the world did that guy get drafted???

SLC picks:

R3/24: Baltimore...Ladarius Webb, CB, Nicholls State

R5/15: New York Giants ... Rhett Bomar, QB, Sam Houston State

R6/3: Atlanta .... Quinten Lawrence, WR, McNeese State

R6/33: Tennessee .... Dominque Edison, WR, SF Austin

Webb is a bit of a surpise to go in R3 but as I have said before, he is a hoss who caused us lots of trouble the past two years. I believe Lawrence is the guy we had such a hard time keeping the ball away from last fall. Congrats to all these fellows.

Good luck to Nate and Marquez in Free Agency.

I think it is an absolute shame that no one deemed them worthy of a draft pick. I sure wish we could have them both back.

Ditto. There is a pretty impressive list of players now in the league that weren't drafted. Something tells me that just maybe these two will make that list.

NFL channell analysts stated that Scott played for 5 colleges? What were they? They also stated that he had serious character issues.

This New York Times article answers those questions: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/29/sports/ncaafootball/29scott.html?_r=1&scp=1&sq=bernard%20scott&st=cse
