LSU was clearly the better team tonight and in the 3 game series....their last pitcher (Coleman) was nasty once he got in the groove....

Mitchell may not have the numbers that Atchley did in college, but he looks like a professional baseball player now. Just the way he looks in the box is impressive. And he hits the ball hard every time he makes contact.

I wonder where he'd have been drafted if the draft was this week instead of before the CWS.

Apparently he can use some work on his defense since LSU pulled him in the bottom of the 9th - unless I missed something and they took all the non-returning players out...

Taylor Jungman doesn't exactly look like a baseball player either, but that kid can flat pitch. He's going to be a great one for Texas.

From what I gathered it was more of letting some of the pineknots get into the game. Pretty classy move by Mainieri. With a seven run lead and Coleman on the mound he could have picked a handful of drunken Tiger fans out of the stands to play the ninth inning. :wink:
