Report: Memphis to vacate Final Four season

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP)—Memphis will be forced to vacate the record 38 victories from its Final Four season of 2007-08, according to a report by the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

The newspaper, citing a source close to the situation, said on its Web site Wednesday night that the NCAA will release findings of its investigation into violations committed by the program on Thursday.

The NCAA investigated whether someone took the SAT exam for a player on that Final Four team. Memphis was notified of potential violations in January and met with the NCAA in June...

IF all this does pan out, this would be the 2nd Final four that Memphis has had vacated. I THINK in 1985 Dana Kirk's group had one vacated as well. I also think it would be Calipari's 2nd Final four vacated. I'm thinking he had his Final Four run at Umass vacated, but I'm not certain...

You're correct about the UMass thing.
That means the Cal has legally reached the final for ZERO times in his career.

So getting to a final four takes talent, luck and a little cheating.
