There's No Place Like Home for Golden Lions
Associated Press
Arkansas-Pine Bluff guard Savalance Townsend (23) is double-teamed by Michigan forward Anthony Wright, left, and guard Darius Morris, right, in the second half of an NCAA college basketball game in December.
.News flash: The Arkansas Pine Bluff men's basketball team plays a home game Saturday. The Golden Lions played the season's first 14 games away from home, the longest road trip in college basketball since at least 1996. A school spokesman says the team receives about $70,000 from each school it travels to play, which helps support athletics. "It's tiring, but the guys end up tough," says coach George Ivory.
