The roster the Cardinals will take into the regular season:

STARTERS (5): RHP Chris Carpenter, RHP Jake Westbrook, LHP Jaime Garcia, RHP Kyle Lohse and RHP Kyle McClellan.

RELIEVERS (7): RHP Ryan Franklin, RHP Jason Motte, RHP Mitchell Boggs, LHP Trever Miller, LHP Brian Tallet, RHP Bryan Augenstein and RHP Miguel Batista.

CATCHERS (2): Yadier Molina and Gerald Laird.

INFIELDERS (6): 1B Albert Pujols, 2B Skip Schumaker, 3B David Freese, SS Ryan Theriot, SS/INF Tyler Greene 2B/3B Daniel Descalso.

OUTFIELDERS (5): LF Matt Holliday, CF Colby Rasmus, RF Lance Berkman, OF Jon Jay, OF/1B Allen Craig

INJURED-DL (2): RHP Adam Wainwright (60-day) and 3B/UT Nick Punto (15-day).

Yeah they do.
They've only won 17 pennants and 10 championships.

The Cards better do something this year while they still have Albert. Not a good chance they re-sign Pujols next season.

Cards might be better without him if they could trade him for a few good players. You can't replace Pujols with a single player though. Either way cubs still won't win a world series.

Can't say the Cards would be better without the most dangerous hitter in the game even if they traded for some good prospects. Not to mention he's a two-time Gold Glover.
