I was just wondering what everyone's opinion of Michelle Wie playing in the John Deere Classic.
Thru 16 holes, she's currently at E. 4 Bogeys, 8 Pars, 4 Birdies.
Average drive 277 and hit 2/3 of the fairways. She also spanked one 310 yards.

Wie is a really good golfer but I don't think she stands a chance in there with the men. I mean heck she had a hard time at the US Open with all the women.

As long as she isn't begging the event to exempt her to allow her to play I don't care. Heck she is beating a ton of men on their own tour right now if that score holds true. I realize that most if not all the top notch golfers are not there, but if her playing raises interest in the sport and/or that particular tournament, and she is actually doing quite well on top of that, I see no problem with it.

I believe she is starting to get other male golfers to endorse her playing a tournament against the PGA here or there now to help her game out in the long run. To learn how to prepare and concentrate against the very best shot after shot after shot. I don't have any problem with it, if she is better than them and can beat them, why not?

BTW she finished the 1st Round -1, tied for 73rd.

She's like 14 and 6'1" or something. That's tall for anybody, especially an Asian. Can you imagine if her and Yao had a kid? Thing would probably wind up 4'8".

Call me sexist, but I just don't get women who feel the need to invade traditionally men sports.

She is a really good golfer. But, I don't understand the need to play in male tournaments...unless it's for a charity game or something like that. She should just come to the top of her game and beat all the ladies in their own tournaments. She should play Tiger Woods someday to raise money for a charity.....I'm sure that event would sell a lot of tickets!!

I would imagine that is in the works or something that will be done soon enough. Her and Annika, Tiger and Phil, that would be a hell of a foursome...no matter how you spilt them.

You just have to get into it! There's nothing better than finishing on the 18th green after a good day of golf! Well maybe there are some things lol

probably nothing better than finishing on the 18th green after a bad day either. 'cause it's finally over.

but the couple times i've been on a golf course, i did find it relaxing and i'm a fan of driving a cart around
