In all seriousness, if any of yall are looking to see UCA win at Bobcat Stadium, this year might be your only chance...
Acutally, we already have... 2 years ago... so here's our NEXT chance to!
You being our apparent only Texas St. fan on her at this time, what do you think of the situation about moving up, esp with the comments from the San An paper last weekend?
Hah! I meant more of your
fans traveling to Bobcat Stadium to see your team win, not your actual
team coming here for a win. But yes, you did beat us two years ago...
Those comments, I think, were written in a way to get attention. And it worked. His "source" thought UTSA was a lock, but wasn't too sure about Texas State. A lot of people took that to mean they had found another candidate and UTSA was leaving Texas State behind. When all that statement really means is the source was well-connected with UTSA info, but "out of the loop" with Texas State news. In fact, Karl Benson again said in yesterday's teleconference that the three schools
still on top, who don't even need campus visits, are (said in this order) Texas State, Montana, and Texas-San Antonio.
My guess is watch for December to roll around before invites are actually issued. We screwed ourselves out of post season play, but Montana hasn't (and I believe they have some internal issues that need to worked out as well). As for how I feel about it? I think it's great news and opens the next chapter of Texas State Athletics. While the WAC-6 are geographically spread out and haven't made a ton of noise over the years, most of them are very fine academic institutions and well respected. Not a bad group of peer institutions to be associated with. It'll suck only being able to make one maybe two away games a year, but it's a price I am willing to pay.
